Jakob and Blue's Clues

Jakob is learning and repeating more words everyday. Did you know he loves the show "Blue's Clues?"  One evening Jeff and I were in the kitchen and Jake was sitting in my lap. Jakob kept saying, " a clue, a clue". He was getting excited and his voice was getting louder and louder. Meanwhile Jeff and I are looking around puzzled, trying to figure out what he is talking about. I finally followed his line of sight and realized he was looking at Sassy's food and water bowls, which have paw prints on the side of them. So, if you've ever seen the show, "Blue's Clues" you know that's how Blue leaves her clues, on a blue paw print! My boy was playing "Blue's Clues!"

Yes, my son is now a professional in the game of finding "Blue's Clues". Every time that he sees a paw print, he repeats "a clue, a clue"! He has seen them at our friends house on their dog's bowls. On the side walk in front of the high school (their mascot is the Wildcats) but don't tell Jakob those aren't "Blue's Clues". On books, toys, and shirts, anytime he sees a paw print everyone hears, "a clue, a clue". It is the sweetest thing.

We have to get it on video before he is on to something else. But for now, I must go.  I think it's about time for a small blue dog to play a game with my son. Arrivederci!

OK, I know this was posted a while back, but I'm just now getting around to reading the Ruff family blog (great idea by the way)! It is so funny to me, because "Blue's Clues" was one of Philip's favorites as a baby. He too, would notice paw prints anywhere, anytime and say (I can remember like it was yesterday) "a coo! a coo!" So here's Jake now, being brought up on the same show (a detective in the making). We bought Philip an inflatable thinking chair and notebook w/the huge crayon, and he used to sit in it and run the show! These are the days you will always remember - xoxoxo

Hey Mandy, that is so funny! "A coo, A coo" is pretty close to what Jake actually says. I didn't think the "non-kid having" crowd would get what I was saying, so I translated in my writing! I think you said it though, spot on. That's why when he first started saying it, we really didn't know what he was saying or getting so excited about. It actually took me following his line of sight in the kitchen to figure out what "a coo" was. LOL You are right- when "Blue" stops being his favorite puppy, or when he starts saying it right, I will be forever longing for the days of, "a coo".
